Your material. Your usage rights.
The studios and SRT Sync help you edit and export. They do not grant rights to the material you use. Before importing, sharing or publishing, check that you may use the videos, images, recordings, compositions, lyrics, subtitles and fonts for your intended purpose.
Owning a file or being able to download it does not automatically allow editing, commercial use or publication. Translations, adaptations, music in videos and identifiable people may require additional rights or consent. Observe license scope, attribution, platform terms and any territorial or time limits.
Palkas Universe does not review your material, obtain licenses or clear rights for you, and does not indemnify you against third-party claims. You decide what to use and share. Statutory claims arising from Palkas Universe’s own fault remain unaffected.
Shared guidance
Check results and keep backups
Before publication, check video, audio, timing, text and exported files in the intended player or platform. Previews, timing aids and conversions do not replace that check. Beta features may change; support for positioning, styling and overlaps differs between players and platforms.
Keep original files and independent project backups. Browser storage and preview caches are not backups. Before sharing a project package, check its included media, fonts and any editing history.
Browser extension
SRT Sync
You control saving and publishing on DistroKid. Check lyrics, start and end times and the SRT returned by DistroKid. Platform changes and technical delays can affect synchronization.
SRT Sync is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DistroKid. Using the extension still requires the relevant rights to lyrics and music; DistroKid’s terms also apply.
Synchronization & subtitles
Lyrics Studio
Importing, synchronizing or converting does not grant rights to text or translations. In particular, check your right to publish the text and combine it with the intended video or music.
“YouTube VTT · Beta” creates anchors based on the YouTube positioning studied in Lyrics Studio. The preview is an approximation. VLC and other players may display the file differently. Check the uploaded result on YouTube. Free WebVTT styling depends on the target player’s capabilities.
Text across multiple tracks
Overlap Studio
Overlapping cues, separate voices and freely placed text expand your design options, not your usage rights. Check all texts and recordings, readability and timing in the target player.
Simultaneous display in the studio preview does not guarantee identical support for overlaps, fonts or positioning in every player.
Local Windows application
Video Studio
You choose the media, audio tracks, custom text and subtitles included in a render. Custom text is burned into the image; separate or embedded subtitles can be toggled where the player supports it. A successful export does not establish usage rights.
Sharing original media or project assets may require different rights from publishing a finished video. In particular, permission to use a font in a video does not automatically allow distributing its font file. Observe the terms of third-party software and codecs as well.

Fonts and licenses
In Lyrics Studio, Overlap Studio and Video Studio, check the license of any custom fonts you use for your intended purpose, particularly commercial use, embedding and redistribution. The studios do not identify or approve the license of an imported font. A font appearing in the menu is not a license clearance.
If a project file or export includes font files, check their embedding and redistribution rights as well. Free WebVTT from Lyrics Studio may include custom font files. Permission to use a font in a finished image or video does not automatically allow distributing the font file itself.
The following bundled-font information applies to Video Studio: Lato and PT Serif are provided under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL) and may also be used in commercial videos. “Openly licensed” does not mean unlicensed or public domain. Video Studio currently bundles no project fonts restricted to noncommercial use.

The SIL OFL 1.1 also applies here. Using the font in a video does not require licensing the video under the OFL. Redistributing or modifying font software is subject to the license terms. Complete notices are also included with the application.

Limits of this notice
The tools do not provide legal advice or guarantee that your material is free of third-party rights or that a platform will reproduce an export unchanged. Palkas Universe does not assume your licensing or publication obligations.
This notice does not exclude liability required by law. In particular, claims arising from intent, gross negligence, attributable injury to life, body or health, and other mandatory statutory claims remain unaffected. It does not restrict statutory rights arising from a breach of essential contractual obligations.
